Second Follow-up CT

I've got a CT scan next week on June 10th. My Hodgkin's friend, Erica (who just so happens to be a radiation technician at my same hospital - it's how we met) will be working that day, so I can go chat with her while I drink the pre-scan barium. It'll make it a little more bearable. :)

HAPPY PORT OUT DAY!

My PowerPort was officially removed today! It's strange to look at where it was and not see a lump anymore. Sure, right now it's covered in a cotton ball and tagaderm, but there's nothing thrusting up out of my chest anymore!



I was awake for the entire operation, and it was performed in a basic examination room so I wasn't under a tent in a huge operating room like when it was put in.

THIS DOOR HAS OFFICIALLY CLOSED.

Cancer-free's the way to be!

I was declared tumor-free on December 18th!!

Trevor found out the next morning he had passed his final CPA exam!!

Long story short, we had mimosas for breakfast.

My hair is starting to come back. I have to shave my armits and legs again (not exactly happy about that, but I'm happy that things are getting back to normal). I never lost all of my hair, but it's really thin on top so I wear hats a lot. My hair is long enough in the back, though, that I can wear two itty bitty pigtails! I think it will become my standard hairstyle for awhile, otherwise I just have a mullet. SWEET.

My next scans are in March... I'll try to update before then. :o)

TOMORROW IS MY FINAL CHEMO TREATMENT!

December 18th is the PET scan that will hopefully declare me cancer-free.

Nothin' but good news

I know I haven't posted for a little while...

Good news:

1) I am climbing out of my rut! This past weekend, Trevor and I cleaned, cleaned, cleaned and were super productive. It really helped my mood.

2) I had treatment #10 out of 12 today! 83% DONE! Two more to go!

Beauty & The Beast

Trevor: "We've already established that if you were a Disney princess you'd be Belle, right?"

Paige: "Yeah, I think so..."

Trevor: "Because your dad's an engineer and Belle's dad was, like, an inventor-guy."

Paige: "Yeah, okay..."

Trevor: "And you like to read. And sketchy guys like you and follow you around."

Paige: "Haha. And I'm adventurous!"

Trevor: "Well, yeah... That, AND you fell in love with a big hairy man."

An Introduction

Let's start out with some background about moi.

In my opinion, I'm a contradictory clash of hippie and class.

Basically I'm an eco-friendly, thrifty gal who is still conscious of her appearance and tries to look put together everyday. Here at my granola, "pot-friendly" school, I stick out like a sore thumb because I *GASP* wear high heels on occasion. In comparison to my boyfriend's business school friends, however, I might as well be wearing macrame sandals because I'm so OCD about recycling and sustainability.

I currently reside in Los Angeles, but I will be returning (in less than a month!) to my beautiful sparkling hometown of Seattle. I. CAN'T. WAIT. Get me out of this grime-slicked wasteland. ASAP. 

L.A. makes me want to take a shower. But, let's get real here, people. Sleep is WAY more important than cleanliness on a lot of days. (But just because you don't take a shower, doesn't mean you must be forced to wear macrame sandals.)
